I want to go to China for 2 weeks or take a few days. When recommending in China, I (I'm not for young adults and seniors) for tourism or the experience of China in all its fullness. I'm leaving Chicago, so that the city should begin in China?

Avoid Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, despite what anyone - including people who have touched upon above - you. All the tourist traps. Definitely Shanghai, you'll love it here! Although not much to see, but this town has its own character, should not be missed.
